Manuel Kindelan received the PhD degree in Applied Mathematics from University of California in San Diego (UCSD) in 1975. From 1975-1978 he worked at INTA (National Institute of Aerospace Techniques) in combustion modeling (flame propagation and ignition). From 1978 to 1985 he worked at UAM-IBM Scientific Center in image processing (remote sensing and medical images). He was also Assistant Professor at School of Aeronautics in Universidad Politécnica Madrid. From 1986 to 1989 he was at ECSEC (European Center for Scientific and Engineering Computing) Rome, working in supercomputing (vector and parallel computing) and applications (seismic modeling). Since 1989 he works in the Mathematics Department of UC3M.
